Vacant properties
An idea: to turn underused buildings into spaces where people work, learn and meet.
Why
Cities have empty buildings. Next to them live people who lack a place to work, study or simply be together. We want to connect the two.
How
Through partnership with owners and local authorities, through small pilots, and through workshops and small enterprises that help participants become independent.
What we imagine
Centres that combine workshops, training, jobs and leisure. Some of the places would be social enterprises whose profit works for the common good.
Status: the concept is developed and we plan to start in the near future. We do not have any premises yet.

Use scenarios (aims, not achieved results)
Learning spaces, workshops, social enterprises, community centres. The aim is to give vacant buildings a socially useful purpose again.
Conditions for delivery
Permission for use, ownership or lease, reconstruction and safety, and a budget with funding sources. None of this is yet defined or agreed.
