Why

Moving to another country often means being left without a circle of your own. Work and paperwork get solved, but there may be no people nearby. It is especially hard for those who stay at home with small children, cannot find work because of the language, start again after a profession that is not needed here, or are on their own. The meetings exist so that there are people around you to talk to and to do things with.

How

We run community and developmental meetings in game and discussion formats. Such events help people get to know each other, strengthen social ties, and practise communication, argument, teamwork and decision-making. The terms of taking part depend on the format of the event and are published in its description.

What happens at the meetings

• Getting to know people and talking in small groups.
• Developmental game formats: communication, teamwork, argument, decision-making.
• Discussing new ideas and projects.
• Supporting one another: advice, contacts, help with practical matters.
• English practice.
• Networking: introductions that turn into work and shared ventures.
• Picnics, trips into nature and celebrations.

Terms of taking part

We do not promise that every meeting is free. For each meeting the announcement gives the date, time, place, cost or concessions, and how to register. A newcomer does not need to know anything in advance: we will introduce you to people.
