Child safeguarding
We want everyone at our events to be safe, and children most of all.
Who comes to our events
Our meetings are for adults. At some events, such as picnics and days out, children and teenagers come with their parents or guardians. A parent or guardian is responsible for their child at all times and stays with them.
What we do
- We do not organise activities for children without their parents.
- No adult from our team is alone with a child who is not their own.
- We take photos and video of children only with a parent's consent. See Photo and video policy.
- If you are worried about a child at one of our events, tell an organiser at once or write to info@fortunacommunity.ie.
What happens if there is a concern
Any concern about a child's safety is taken seriously. We will pass it to the right authorities, as the Children First Act 2015 requires, and we will not investigate it ourselves.
Our full statement
We are preparing a full Child Safeguarding Statement under the Children First Act 2015, with a risk assessment and a named person to contact. We will publish it here when it is finished and checked.
