Housing & refugee integration
A long-term idea: to help families from Ukraine and other countries find stable housing and make it the first step to an independent life.
Status
The concept is developed and we plan to start in the near future. We do not provide housing yet.
Why
Without a permanent home it is hard to study, work and build relationships. A stable home gives the support on which everything else starts.
How
We want to work together with property owners, local authorities, housing organisations and employers: housing, training, work and language as one path, not four separate ones.
What we are considering
Finding suitable properties, agreements with owners, support for families, and links to training and work.
Delivery model (plan)
- Partners: property owners, local authorities, housing organisations and employers; no partners are confirmed yet.
- Legal model and access to housing: not set; they depend on partners and permissions.
- Fortuna's responsibilities: coordination, support for families, links to learning and work; responsibility for the housing lies with owners and operators.
- Budget: not set.
- Expected results: to be set together with partners.
- Risks: lack of funding and premises, legal constraints, safeguarding of vulnerable people.
What is needed to start
Compliance with housing rules, permissions, fire safety, protection of children and vulnerable people, and stable funding.
How you can help
If you own property, are a lawyer, represent a housing organisation or have experience in this field, write to us.
We do not promise housing. We are honestly building an idea.
